How Nutrition Adapts to Your Goal
The NOURA foundation—conscious eating, appropriate nourishment, and consistent practice—remains constant. What changes is how you apply it based on your goal. Use this tool to understand the nutritional context of weight loss, maintenance, or muscle gain.
Select Your Goal
Maintenance is about consistency with the foundation. The caloric context is balanced, allowing flexibility while maintaining the same conscious eating principles.
Nutritional Approach
Caloric Context
At or slightly above/below maintenance. The focus shifts from the numbers to consistency with conscious choices and observation of energy and recovery.
Protein
Moderate protein (1.2-1.6g per kg). Supports daily function, muscle maintenance, and recovery from training.
Carbohydrates
Balance based on training volume and personal response. You have more flexibility to find what works.
Fats
Adequate for hormone production and satiety. Similar to loss, but may have slightly more room for flexibility.
Key Considerations for Weight Maintenance
Maintenance is often the most sustainable context if the foundation is solid
Use this phase to develop and refine eating patterns that feel natural
Recovery and stress management are priorities, not constraints
Training can focus on progression and skill development
This is when observation becomes most valuable—learn what your body needs
The Foundation Remains Constant
Regardless of your goal, the principles of conscious eating, appropriate nourishment, and consistent observation remain the same. The goal determines the caloric and macronutrient context, but not the philosophy. Build your foundation first, then optimize for your specific goal.
